Explore The Complexities of Your Inner World
Hi, I’m Katherine.
Whether something happened recently that made you consider starting therapy or you’ve been thinking about it for a while, I’m happy to explain the process.
You will lead our sessions, by talking freely about what is on your mind, and together we follow our curiosities to understand your emotional experiences. I strive to create a space where we can explore things that have felt too difficult to look into alone. We will aim to explore the things that are hard to understand, and between us, new ideas will emerge. These themes will help us understand why you are the person you are, what you hope to change, and what kind of support you need. In therapy, we can begin to appreciate our strengths and gain compassion for how we cope in the world while finding new ways to relate to ourselves and others.
If you are worried about never feeling better, despite trying everything, we will explore the things you are facing and feeling. Over time, we can understand what you need and how you can create meaning in your life.
I work from a relational psychodynamic orientation, which aims to help us understand the nuances of our inner emotional world and foster curiosity about things outside of our awareness. We will use our relationship to better understand common themes in your relationships with others. To help you do this deep work, I seek case consultation and my own psychotherapy to ensure my patients get the best care possible. I value self-exploration and believe that meaningful long term change is possible.
I aim to create a space where people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, races, genders, religions, and sexualities can examine themselves closely and honestly. That being said, I believe trust with a therapist is built, and not a given. I am open to discussing any questions you might have about myself, my experience, and whatever it is that you might need to know prior to committing to working together. I look forward to hearing from you about what it is you are hoping to work on, and what kind of support you are seeking.
